Mattias F. Josefsson

Biography
Mattias F. Josefsson is an architect, photographer, teacher, and doctoral fellow at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO). Since 2016, Josefsson has been teaching landscape architecture at AHO, including master studios, elective courses, and, notably, as one of the founders and course coordinator for the one-year landscape architecture studies, together with Hanne Bat Finke and Silje Kolltveit, in the newly developed five-year landscape architecture degree program at AHO/UiT. He is a founding member of the collective group DugnadDays, alongside Alexander E Furunes and Maria Årthun, which utilizes participatory and artistic methods to develop a new community center in the suburban area of Sletteløkka in Oslo. This method was exhibited at the Philippines pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2021, where it received the Silver Lion award. Josefsson holds a Master of Architecture degree with distinction from the Bergen School of Architecture. He also pursued architecture studies at ETH Zurich and photography studies at the Edinburgh College of Art.
