Violaine is a French-Norwegian landscape architect. She graduated as a landscape architect from ENSP Versailles (France) in 2005. She has taught in an architecture school for seven years (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture et de Paysage de Lille) on landscape design, codesign methods, participatory design processes in urban planning, as well as agroecology. She has practiced for about 15 years with a focus on participatory design methods and involvement within an atypical and interdisciplinary design office – Les Saprophytes – that she cofounded. She mainly worked on public-civic spaces, urban scale programming, and with designing involvement and pedagogical tools such as subjective mapping or situated actions. She has been a trainer in agroforestry; among her interests are the issues of soil restoration. Her current research investigates the landscape architect’s know-how in the frame of climate action by experimenting with systemic participatory design tools. At AHO, Violaine is part of the NATURACT research project
